What is Plastic Surgery?
There are two types of plastic surgery: cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery.
Cosmetic surgery is performed to reshape normal structures of the body in order to improve a patient's appearance and self-confidence.
Reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the body, caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors or disease. It is generally performed to improve function, but may also be done to approximate a normal appearance. There are many types of reconstructive surgeries including Breast Reconstruction, Breast Reduction, Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate repair.
Plastic Surgery can include:
- Cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and abdomen
- Body contouring by implants, grafts and liposuction
- Surgery for birth deformities of cleft lip and palate
- Breast reconstruction for benign and malignant disease
- Laser surgery and laser treatment for wrinkles and hair removal
Highest Standard of Care:
We believe you deserve great results and the highest standard of care and safety. At the Plastic Surgery Center, you will find surgeons dedicated to helping you meet your goals. We can work with you at every stage of your life. We'll evaluate your health, medical history and body type to provide comprehensive advice according to your personal goals. We will tell you what results a procedure can and cannot deliver and its associated risks; how to choose the right course of action depending on your age, needs, and wishes; and what you can expect to look like after the procedure.
Unlike others who may be trained in only a few cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, plastic surgeons are educated in the full spectrum of cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical care. They sharpen their skills and techniques through one of the lengthiest and most comprehensive training programs in all of medicine. In addition, we are continually extending our knowledge with the latest techniques to ensure you have the best possible outcome.
